Maverick rides again!

Maverick rides again!

"I never considered myself a maverick."

-- John McCain, April 5, 2010.

"Some conservative analysts do not see McCain's change in policy as a reversal, or a kowtow to the Tea Party but in keeping with his long-standing strategy to be a maverick."

-- ABC News, May 11, 2010, writing about McCain's major flip-flop on immigration issues.

Don't you people see what McCain is doing here? When he said that he never considered himself a maverick, that was a part of his long-standing strategy -- he was being mavericky on the question of being a maverick. The dude is playing 8-dimensional chess here. Those of us trapped in the reality-based world have been left in the dust one more time.
