Manhattan mayhem mystery

What does it say about the state of affairs in 2010 America that when a guy tries to blow up Times Square, the list of potential suspects is longer than in an Agatha Christie whodunnit -- al-Qaeda, left-wing lone nut, militias, the Taliban, right-wing lone nut, Basque separatists...really, who knows? I'm kind of tied up again for most of the day so I'm putting you to work to solve the mystery of Manhattan.
