I'm sure there's a post or two that I'm forgetting, but I feel like Attytood's been pretty light on the Hillary-bashing ever since the Bosnia days -- some stories just write themselves without my help. But I have to confess my bafflement with this one: Sen. Clinton has now come up with definitions for the words "broader" and "deeper" that I have never come across in my 49 years:
Clinton called her base of support "broader and deeper" than Obama's, and said, "At the end of the day, that's what it should be about for Democrats. You know, it is who can better win. And I've won the big states. I've won the states that we have to anchor. If we had the Republican rules, I would already be the nominee."
Aside from the fact that America has mostly been governed under "Republican rules" for the last seven years, and we know how that's turned out, does she mean...
"Broader" as in the fact that Obama has won a lot more states, or "deeper" as in Obama has more pledged delegates, more overall delegates and more popular votes, unless you count the Michigan non-primary that Clinton duplicitously entered with Obama's name not even on the ballot? As a penalty for Clinton's lame remark, I give you a link to this newest kerfluffle, which may remind some readers of an Elvis Costello song lyric.
UPDATE: Doctored? Maybe. This 2008 race is one for the books, that's for sure.
Best. Photo. Ever. Talking point sleuth
I prefer the awkward Bush-McCain hug. RG
Yes, well, you see caucuses are "undemocratic" but rules that give 100% of the delegates to whoever wins a plurality of the vote - well, those rules would be just fine. It's like she has Al Davis running her campaign now - Just Win, Baby. She'll say anything - and likely do anything - to win the nomination (regardless of the effect on her "electability" in the general). Rich people, you see, deserve all the opportunities to make sure their country and their blessings continue until the next generation. Up against the Librul Mediuh's "straight talk" McCain, this kind of spinning doubletalk will get her roasted. E.Plebnista

Caucuses may be the most ridiculous way to choose an candidate imaginable. Nothing more than a glorified clusterf. All this because the Democrats want to be "fair" to everyone. They don't want to win as evidenced by the Rube Goldberg system they have in place to select a candidate. Malachy
Yes nary a word.. just 20 posts on the subject in the last few weeks. You people love to ignore reality. Politburo
Politburo You actually read posts by "the genius"? Isn't that like trying to decipher Chinese algebra? You desrve a medal. Malachy
Will: Will, this link is amazing. I am surprised it is not all over the media. Let's hear the Clinton campaign explain this one, even if it is from 1992. AHiredGun
Time to put on your research hat Will. Apparently the director of that film is claiming that footage is doctored. Please look into. www.politico.com/blogs/bensmith/0508/Pennebaker_Clip_Doctoered.html RG
LOL! It looks like someone told Hillary "Drink this and Obama will disappear!" James TL
If Clinton was really that gung ho for her own gas tax holiday proposal, shouldn't she haul her pantsuit back to DC and introduce some legislation soon? The summer season is just a couple weeks away, and I know she wants the expert economists to give sworn testimony that it's such a great idea. After all, you're either with us or you're with the oil companies. SteveMG
Steve, she's relying on McCain to do that work, too. Politburo

Billary lies like a rug. S.J.- Caucuses are the most ridiculous way to choose a candidate because the guy with the funny name always wins them.
