I'll never forget what I was doing when I heard the news...

...that the Obama presidency was 100 days old.

I can't wait to hear Joe Biden's recollection of how cable TV covcred FDR's first 100 days.

Feels like a lot longer, doesn't it? Is that the esteemed Senator Specter (D or R-whatever helps him)chasing after Obama?

I can't believe the war in Iraq isn't over, Usama bin Laden hasn't been captured, the credit freeze hasn't thawed, GTMO isn't closed, GM isn't hiring, the housing boom hasn't begun and the DJIA isn't over 15,000 by now! What's taking the President so long? I mean, he's the Messiah, right? Sure, sure. It took nearly a decade to create the confluence of debacles, but 100 days is 94 more than God in the Flesh should need. (He created the universe in 6 days, after all.)

Hahahah -- nice one, JMC! As for Obama's first 100 days? Undecided. He certainly passed a huge stimulus bill, but I can't tell if that is a good thing or a bad thing yet. What else has been done? Is Gitmo closed? Are we out of Iraq? Have we closed any chapters on the Bush Presidency? I would have to give Obama a grade of "Incomplete". I'm not feeling that a lot has been done, but if the stimulus "works", then it will be an "A".

From that bastion of right-wing torture lovers, The San Francisco Chronicle "The seed that could haunt Obama's presidency and derail his ambitious agenda could be an investigation of torture techniques used on terrorism suspects during the Bush administration, analysts said. "If the country is focused on the Bush torture program all summer it is going to be a huge distraction," said Larry Berman, a professor of political science at UC Davis who teaches a course on Obama's first 100 days. "The people who don't realize this, I think, are the people who supported Obama from the progressive wing of the Democratic Party."

Birdie ... You are absolutely correct. America did NOT vote Obama in to have an expose on what went wrong during the Bush years -- trust me, that will bite him in the a $ $ (and the whole DEM party) very quickly. He was put in office to get things done -- while we as conservatives may disagree with the things he's doing, NOBODY wins by reliving the past. It's why Gerald Ford pardoned Nixon -- he didn't want to, but realized that his entire presidency was going to be defined by Nixon if he didn't get him out of the way. As it turned out, Ford was still defined by Nixon. It will be VERY interesting to see if Obama is defined by Bush -- I would think he would do everything possible not to have that happen.

Interesting quote from CNN regarding Bush's First 100 Days: I think it's time to move on," Bush told reporters in mid-February while returning on Air Force One from a visit to Norfolk, Virginia. But he acknowledged that "Congress is going to do what it's going to do." Andrew Card, Bush's chief of staff, told Reuters in an interview the same day that although Congress might investigate Clinton's moves, the White House would continue to defend the authority of the president -- no matter who he is. "I happen to think that the job we have working in the White House is not to erode the power of the president, and I won't be party to any erosion of constitutional responsibility the president has," Card said."

North Korea is announced it is going to start a-bomb tests. Why not, Obama let them get away with their missle test a few weeks ago. Of course, liberals think this is Bush's fault too.
