If I'm run over and left for dead on a busy street when I'm 78, please help me

This video of a hit-and-run on a busy Connecticut shopping street that left an elderly man paralyzed has been running all day on MSNBC, and it's pretty shocking. The worst part is all the pedestrians on the street who are acting all like, "Wow, that poor dude got run over...hey, look, there's a pair of Nikes in that shop for only 60 bucks!" Seriously, it takes forever for anyone to go out in the street and attend to the guy. What's wrong with people?
