How to switch New York from blue to red

POSTED: Thursday, July 8, 2010, 3:28 PM

Is LeBron James going to sign with the Miami Heat to save $12 million in state income taxes?

Or might it have something to do with the chance to play with Chris Bosh and Dwayne Wade?

It doesn't matter because No. 1 will be the talking point you'll be hearing repeatedly on political cable TV for the next month.

Of course, Florida's status as a low-tax haven has also helped it avoid the curse of unemployment...what?

You mean that slashed taxes and ran a big deficit -- who would do such a dumb thing?

Certainly not BO. He'll raise taxes and run up a deficit that will easily outstrip those taxes.

Look, will, Florida's unemployment rate doesn't count for 3 reasons. 1) Any amount of taxes is too much. If this were a real government, instead of a socialistic government, it could operate on gumption instead of money. 2) It's a ploy of the liberal media, and all the unemployed people are really just retired. 3) It doesn't fit into the Herbert Hoover economic model that conservatives embrace (and which has already failed) which states that low taxes automatically create jobs. Therefore, it just can't be used to disprove the efficacy of the Austrian economic model.

The oil spill in the Gulf continues while Will has already had 5 posts about LeBron James this week. NASA is told to concetrate on prasing Muslim countries but Will continues to not write about certain subjects - in a one sided blog bash - I refuse to call this guy a journalist - because his first post this morning he cried about covering the duckboat accident with two people most likely dead and spent more time COMPLAINING abotu having to cover the story and it ruined his day. I think the people who died and their families had a worst day there bunch and your inability to ramble about Beck and Palin for an afternoon falls well short in that category.

The tax break and not having to live anywhere near Cleveland gives LeBron 12,000,001 reasons to go to Miami. Doesn't the NBA have a cap? How are the Sixers capped out with Elton Brand and Sam Dalembert but Miami can keep Wade and sign 2 of the 3 biggest other free agents?

RG - so the other 9 guys will be players who have been overpaid for 10 years and now want to be on a team that can win a championship? Are Robert Horry and Scott Wedman still active in the NBA??

I vote for the tax reason.

The saddest thing about pro basketball is that it takes wood that would be better suited for a bowling alley. Mark it 8, DUDE!
