How to lose a Democratic primary in 13 months

This is bad politics, not because of his stance but because of his failure to register any enthusiasm for Sotomayor, which will be remembered by Democratic primary voters (and may refresh their collective memories of Anita Hill). I had a longer post on this but the software from an obscure company called Clickability -- in case any technology purchasing agents are reading this -- destroyed it.

What the libs need to ask is this , just as you move politicaly to the left the whole of Europe is moving to the right . In Britain we are coming to the end of ten years of liberal/socialist rule the place is a cess pit of crime , corruption , rampant goverment spending , unchecked illegal immigration ( sound familiar ? ) the libs face total meltdown today in local and euro elections and disaster (please god ) in the general election next year . What you need to ask is this if Obama's ideas are so brilliant and wonderfull why have they failed over and over again in Europe and why is a whole continent marching to the right ? , in some countries very far right. Guess you will all find out over the next five years . PAEnglish

And we have a winner! The prize for Clueless and Factually Incorrect Non-Sequitur of the day goes to WriteWinger. Thanks to all of the other wingnuts for playing and remember -- be sure to have absolutely no idea what you're talking about! DiTurno
PAEnglish raises an excellent question: why would the US possible move to the left after the unmitigated successes of the Bush years? Truly, it's a mystery wrapped in an enigma surrounded by a conundrum with some spicy cheese sauce. DiTurno

Hey DiTurno- thanks for the compliment. Your ignorant comments means I must have hit the nail right on the head. Or you can say I really "called a spade a spade". A few years ago in New York, the State Trooper test results were published with different passing marks for whites, blacks and hispanics. That has been rectified without the help of RACIST Judge So-So. She is wholly unqualified as will be brought out in the hearings. All we need is ONE brave Democrat to question some of her rantings. I won't be counting on lap dog Casey that's for sure. But if old Arlen wants to make some points standing on his soapbox, who knows what could happen. What a BIG setback that would be for the empty suit in the White House if he had to withdraw her name!!!! WriteWinger
Since we are talking about seniors and republicans - I just want to remind the short memory liberals writing in with thier double talk about bashing seniors that while Bush was in office with a republican congress the seniors 401k made money. Funny that everyones 401k started tanking about 2-3 years ago when Democrats came along changed things. But then again all the liberals writing in probably have no clue what a 401k is since that option is not available in the union pack or in the welfare check. I love how if sonya was a republican nominee - that racist quote she used would be enough ammo to get the bonfire going. but since the "clueless one" chose her all is good. reddog44
"Funny that everyones 401k started tanking about 2-3 years ago when Democrats came along changed things" What, specfically, did they change? And if we're holding presidents and Congress accountable for 401k fluctuations, can you explain the giant market dip at the beginning of Bush's first term? RG

"can you explain the giant market dip at the beginning of Bush's first term?" There was a market pullback in March 2001 that was followed by a rebound to even higher levels in June (in the midst of the recession that began at the end of Clinton's second term in late 2000), so surely you don't mean that. Later on that year, I seem to recall some sort of major shock to the financial system during the fall...let's see, what was that? Vandy
"Later on that year, I seem to recall some sort of major shock to the financial system during the fall...let's see, what was that?" Doesn't really matter, it happened under Bush and a Repub congress who were "changing things". RG

"This is bad politics." Conversely, Will, this is good politics for a Pennsylvania Democrat: "By PETE YOST, Associated Press Writer Pete Yost, Associated Press Writer – 2 hrs 8 mins ago; WASHINGTON – Rep. John Murtha, D-Pa., steered millions of dollars in defense work to a campaign donor and the Pentagon went along with it, despite the fact that two convicted drug dealers had been deeply involved with the company."
