Believe it or not, somebody you never heard of -- Texas Rep. Chet Edwards -- is supposedly on Obama's short list, we now know.
Wow.
Maybe somebody printed up a lot of "Obama-Edwards" bumper stickers last month and said, "Oh, what the heck," or maybe there's some McGovern-era DNC bylaw that the nominee must be named Edwards, as it was in 2004. Trying to find out more about this guy -- picking someone from that deep red state of Texas would be unconventional, to say the least.
UPDATE: Wow, this dude comes off as pretty conservative -- expect a low-grade revolt if Obama picks him.
