"they will drone on about how great of a country America is, yet seem all too easily ready to ditch the very rights & freedoms we have that make us great." Hey now...that's not fair. Just because some liberals wanted to overturn the 2nd Amendment (and some still wish to repeal it), that doesn't make them any less American than anyone else.

James TL --- Couldn't agree with you more. What always cracks me up about the flag waving crowd is how they will drone on about how great of a country America is, yet seem all too easily ready to ditch the very rights & freedoms we have that make us great.

To anyone reading this story that has a 'beef' about it: Suppose you or someone you care about was falsely accused by either the USA or some other government. Wouldn't you be glad you or they were released? Surely if the US government had ANY real evidence against this person they would continue to hold him and maybe even (gasp!) hold a trial. Why do conservatives have no problem holding unaccused prisoners? I guess anything George Bush does is gospel to you. Good luck with your delusions. They're gonna end in little more than 6 months no matter which candidate is elected the new president. VIVA January 21, 2009!

Experience means little. Common sense and knowledge mean a lot.

Make up your minds. Either Bush with little to no military experience was the wrong choice to lead the nation or McCain with extensive military experience is wrong to lead the nation. How much experience is the right level?

In fact, it was so good I think you should post it twice.

I wouldn't feel too bad about this guy. After years of captivity and torture, he now has the "experience" to be a world leader, just like McCain. He should be thanking us.

Wow! A three-judge panel, which includes Reagan and Bush appointees, rules that the Bush administration had no evidence, nada, to justify imprisoning someone, and jmc weighs in to say "once a sychophant, always as sycophant." No evidence, jmc. Nada. As found by three judges, jmc, three judges. Because there was no evidence, jmc. No evidence. Two of the judges were appointed by "conservatives" jmc. Two of the judges.

So this dude wanted to escape oppression in China, so he went to Taliban and Al Qaeda controlled Afghanistan in 2001? Makes perfect sense to me.
