Get well

POSTED: Wednesday, December 30, 2009, 11:07 PM

Seriously:

HONOLULU (AP) - A Honolulu television station is reporting that conservative radio talk show host Rush Limbaugh has been taken to a hospital with chest pains.

KITV reported Wednesday that paramedics responded to a call at 2:41 p.m. from the Kahala Hotel and Resort where Limbaugh is vacationing.

The station, citing unnamed sources, said paramedics treated Limbaugh and took him to The Queen's Medical Center in serious condition.

I don't play that game of wishing ill health or worse on political adversaries, no matter how detestable their views may be, and you shouldn't either, because....

a) We're all human, at least last time I checked.

b) There's nothing more satisfying than defeating your rival in the field of ideas -- and they need to live long, healthy lives to be able to do that.

So, get well, Rush Limbaugh. And get well quickly, because I want to make fun of you for vacationing in that "exotic" Barack Obama-producing state of Hawaii.

I would believe your well-wishes were credible if not for the "detestable" comment. You have achieved a level of transparency that your Dear Leader Maobama can only lie about having. Congrats.

Things scientists say: "Brain damage in early childhood severely affects cognition in later life." Well, sloboat, looking at you as an example, they clearly got that one right.

I mean, seriously, anyone who thinks that because some scientists were wrong about some things at some time in the past, you should therefore conclude that all scientists are wrong about everything, is just amazingly out of touch. Modern society is built on the overwhelming accuracy of scientific past scientific theories about medicine, physics, chemistry, biology, astronomy, geology, etc. A the anti-science fervor among the frightwing is downright scary. I certainly hope the economy continues in its turnaround - otherwise our next president may very well be an anti-science, "the earth is 6,000 years old," "Noah put two of every species on the planet on his ark and floated around for 40 days and 40 nights," "my ancestors weren't no dang monkeys," "some scientists were wrong in the 50s about global cooling," nutbar like Sarah Palin.

Apparently Rush is back on the Oxy - he told paramedics he was taking "medication" for back pain. Sounds more like an OD to me.
