"Freakonomics" looks at the Mumia case, and comes up with the right equation.
Well, the song below can't be dedicated to Obama, who was NOT the "Jesus of Suburbia" on Tuesday. But the New York Times has a good look at what it means for November.
It's the open thread -- go crazy, folks, go crazy.

Is there a point in clicking the "Report Abuse" button?
Mr. McKittrick, after very careful consideration, sir, I've come to the conclusion that your new comment system sucks.
Well, considering that Jesus was crucified as a blasphemer Will, I think the dedication would be appropriate. In PA, it's blasphemy to denigrate guns, don't you know? Of course, it's even more a capital offense here in WV. It's no anomaly that the two southwestern PA counties bordering my fair state voted 80% for Hillary. (BTW, Mumia happens to be lodged down there in Waynesburg, in case you wondered)

"we all know that privileged, lily-white Republicans are naive, easily influenced and generally not too bright." - there, fixed it for you.
Nice Wargames reference.... anyway, while I don't agree with the Free Mumia crowd, I am really confused as to why Levitt claims "Murdered by Mumia" is the best source on the case. He admits it is biased, as it is co-written by Officer Faulkner's widow, but he doesn't seem to have a problem with that. As one commenter notes, he is essentially guilty of the same offense as the uninformed UCLA student. Really quite odd.. I suppose he could be trying to make a back-door point, but if so, it didn't work for me.
I'm not a Smerconish fan at all but after reading this book I can't help but give the guy props for airing this side of the story.
It says 8 comments, but I only get 6..
How come so few comments are viewable? I agree, this new format really sucks!
just found out (thanks to RG) that you have to click on'view all comments' near the top of the comments.
