I have already had the opportunity to see "what's up there" Rick and it is very scary. BTW, since you are such a Man of God, you might want to remember the 8 beatitudes from your Catholic education.

Neelie, you are either Catholic or liberal, they are rarely the same. Read 'Can a Catholic Be a Democrat?' by David Carlin or 'Render Unto Caesar: Serving the Nation by Living Our Catholic Beliefs in Political Life' by Charles J. Chaput our archbishop. The left's focus talks well, but lacks any Catholic values.

and you Fisher are a true Catholic I guess? You support the child raping, woman hating, fantasy believing church? I spoke to God the other day and he said you're nuts.

Rick, until you get a shot of penicillin, that burning will not go away and will only get worse.

In fact, “the Church now finds itself in a situation of Babylonian captivity, in which the ‘for’ and ‘against’ attitudes are not only tangled up in the oddest ways, but seem to allow scarcely any reconciliation. Mistrust has emerged, because being in the Church has lost straightforwardness, and no one any longer risks attributing honesty to another.” 2 He warned that today an illusion is dangled before us: that a man can find himself without first conquering himself, without the patience of self denial and the labor of self control; that there is no need to endure the discomfort of upholding tradition, or to continue suffering the tension between the ideal and the actual in our nature. The presentation of this illusion constitutes the real crisis of our times. A man who has been relieved of all tribulation and led off into a never-never land has lost what makes him what he is; [he] has lost himself. Writes Joseph Ratzinger (now the Pope). If you understood to have the Lord on your mind, on your tongue and in your heart, you would see.

Fisher---Please wait until Ricky gets the nomination before you publicize that kind of turgid blarney. It only helps Romney right now.

I miss Christopher Hutchens. He had a way of summing up religious nuts like Rick Santorum in one clever sentence. Does Rick understand why the founders insisted on the separation of church and state? There is no longer any consistency to the positions of the Republican candidates - it has become 'give the mob what it wants'. History says that once the primaries are over, we can expect the winning candidate to swing back to the center. But how do you swing to the center from positions like Santorum's? Keep digging that hole deeper, Republicans.

You're confusing Santorum with Obama. It was Obama who last month claimed that Jesus supported his policies over the Republicans. Check it out. Of course, we all know he was lying, so no one got excited.

//Does Rick understand why the founders insisted on the separation of church and state?///

They did? Funny I don't see "separation of church and state" in the Constitution anywhere. All I see is an amendment that states that Congress a) can't pass a law endorsing a specific religion and b) Congress also can't pass a law to restrict the "free exercise" of a religion of their own choosing.

The quote is accurate. If you want to be complete, explain the context, and where the quote is found.
