Missing in Charlotte: One backbone

My message is this — it is time for Democrats to grow a backbone and stand up for what we believe. Quit waiting for pundits or polls or Super PACs to tell us who the next President or senator or congressman will be. We are Americans. We shape our own future.

-- Massachussetts Gov. Deval Patrick at the Democratic National Convention Tuesday night.

That's a backbone pictured at the top of the post. I put it up there in the event any Democrats are reading this blog, so they will know what one looks like. The crowd in Charlotte went nuts when Deval Patrick said that on Tuesday -- proving its easier to cheer for a backbone than actually grow one. Within hours, President Obama and his campaign ordered the platform changed, because the Drudge Report was saying nasty things. These are the same cowards who fired a high-ranking official who'd done nothing wrong but was about to be criticized by Glenn Beck.

Forget the backbone -- the Democrats needs to grow some cojones...in the next 10 weeks. Not sure that's medically possible.
