Attytood reader e-mail of the week

POSTED: Wednesday, June 18, 2008, 10:18 PM

Now a reading of the email I received tonight from "John in Northeast Philly."

John writes:

Hello, No disrespect but liberals like you make me sick. Quite frankly real Americans don't care what we do to these bastards and we shouldn't. In fact until we start beheading them on live TV, they and their supporters don't have a complaint.

No disrespect! Have you ever seen Jon Stewart do his riff on that -- too funny. He then says I look like a guy on some show called the "Hippy Gourmet" on PBS. I don't know the show but if it involves food and hippies, I would probably like it. Just in case you were wondering where John in Northeast Philly is going with this, he concludes:

Keep wishing for obama, as a Philadelphian you've suffered under enough black leaders and quarterbacks to know better.

Yup, how could anyone vote for Obama after watching McNabb guide the Eagles for the last eight seasons -- unless they have "a social concern"? I truly hope Philadelphia can be restored to those glory years when Roman Gabriel was guiding the Eagles and Frank Rizzo was in City Hall.

Does anyone know what church McNabb goes to? Anyone know what his reverend says? Has McNabb ever had lunch with someoe that was a political activist 60 years ago? Those could be the reasons the Eagles haven't won a Super Bowl. I'm sure it's either that, or the jewelry that McNabb wears.

No TPS, his wife used the word "whitey" once & has never been proud of anything that's happened in Philly until he got here.

Professor Bunch, good argument until the last sentence. I'd like to ask the readers which mayor Philadelphians preferred: (a) John Street; (b) Wilson Goode; or (c) Frank Rizzo. My guess is (c) would win in a landslide. Also, pick your comparison cases carefully - why did you avoid naming Ron Jaworski as the white QB option? Perhaps because your point would've been less convincing...? I'm totally unimpressed with the way you make your points.

"Professor Bunch, good argument until the last sentence. I'd like to ask the readers which mayor Philadelphians preferred: (a) John Street; (b) Wilson Goode; or (c) Frank Rizzo." Oddly enough, you criticize me for leaving out Jaworski as a QB choice, but yet YOUR list didn't include a black mayor...Michael Nutter, have you heard of him? As for Jaws v. McNabb, both led the Birds to the Super Bowl, both lost, McNabb by fewer points (although he loses style points for vomiting during the last touchdown drive). All of which means John McCain should be our next president.

Don't knock the vomit. Everytime McNabb hurls, he throws a touchdown pass.

Will, what was the point of publishing this private e-mail. Was it to prove that conservative racists do indeed exist? (Probably not, since we know that racists exists on both ends of the political spectrum.) Or was it to furtively attribute John's views to all conservatives?

I love the use of "we" like Johnny's sitting in the trenchs dealing with the reprecussions of the actions he supports.

"Someone with even the slightest hint of personal or professional ethics would not have published a private email...." Which I'm sure, batboy, is why you refuse to read LGF anymore, because Charles Johnson does it regularly. Oh yeah, and I'm sure that your deep shock that Will has done is also will drive you away from Attytood. Yeah. Right. What a fraud. BTW, how do you find the time, with all your praying for Tim Russert's family, to post so much here at Attytood?

When you send a communication to another party, you have no expectation that they will keep it private (unless prominently disclosed in the communication or otherwise protected by law, i.e. your doctor, lawyer, etc.). When you send a communication to a journalist or other public figure, you have even less of an expectation. There is no ethical issue here.
