Yes! September baseball has been one big downer in this town. Barring a sweep of the Mets in NY (as they did last year around this time, but still...), the day will come to dissect the 2008 Phillies, but not today.
Sad -- sports has always been a diversion from politics, but the last couple of weeks politics has become a diversion from sports.
I'm cheering for the refs tonight. Dr. Martin von Nostrand

No, I'm watching the Republican Convention. PennGuy86
Why do Republicans think drilling will fix things? Seriously. Can someone explain this to me? Wolfgang
Your so clever Genius! Did you come up with that all by yourself? You should look into quitting your day job and being a stand up comedian. Dr. Martin von Nostrand
Speaking of one big downwer.... I present Will Bunch. The man who is quick to point out problems, yet cannot come up with any solutions. Attaboy Buncho shoeshineboy
Okay, so McCain is no orator. But I'll take relevant experience and proven ability over soaring rhetoric delivered by a smart-but-not-very-good lawyer and a blowhard failed lawyer ten times out of ten. Also, Eli still sucks. Echo

"But I'll take relevant experience and proven ability over soaring rhetoric..." Hmmm. Guess you reject Palin, then. Talking point sleuth
0,2,4,6? How many games will the Phils be behind after this weekend? As a long time fan, it's hard to be optimistic with this franchise, perhaps the worst in the history of baseball. If they don't win 2 out of 3 they are virtually out of it. Only time will tell.....This should have been the year to pull out all of the stops and go for it all. Does anyone think the Phillies have done all they could do? Make money.. that's all these owners care about. Why people keep showing up to line these peoples' pockets is a mystery to me. Hope they do well this weekend but even if they win this division, they aren't going anywhere. James TL
