Al Gore the Science Guy
For some reason it's a lot easier to say a guy is fat, or whatever, than admit that he's right:
As it turns out, the scientific community has been addressing this particular question for some time now and they say that increased heavy snowfalls are completely consistent with what they have been predicting as a consequence of man-made global warming:
"In fact, scientists have been warning for at least two decades that global warming could make snowstorms more severe. Snow has two simple ingredients: cold and moisture. Warmer air collects moisture like a sponge until it hits a patch of cold air. When temperatures dip below freezing, a lot of moisture creates a lot of snow.”
"A rise in global temperature can create all sorts of havoc, ranging from hotter dry spells to colder winters, along with increasingly violent storms, flooding, forest fires and loss of endangered species.”

IN FACT, beginning a sentence with IN FACT doesn't make it FACT. IN FACT, using the word 'scientists' is such a broad brush term that doesn't mean squat. There are many types of scientists. IN FACT, I am a scientist, and I don't believe 1) there is global warming, and 2) if I am wrong, and there is, that it is man-made. IN FACT, there is no empirical evidence correlating a rise in temperatures to extremes in weather.- in fact i have as many scientific credentials as algore so i guess my nobel is waiting for me too — rysagr
- Col., I believe there is global warming and cooling, and that it is cyclical and we have little,if anything,to do with it. "Science" changes because a real scientist is always skeptical. New discoveries doom old paradigms.The old saw, "don't touch the heart."Reviving those with low body temp due to immersion after extended periods. Science is a set of rules we use to define nature in our terms.Some, physics and chemistry are constant. Others, the biologic and enviromental sciences,change with new discoveries and evidence.Climate hysteria is based solely on computer models. All it takes is a data mistake of.01% to make all extrapolations invalid.These folks should also read a little history. Little Ice Age ring a bell?

- Apparently the Colonel thinks moisture falls from outer space. That's the only conclusion I can draw, since surely he knows that cold air condenses moisture, it doesn't cause it to rise into the atmosphere, a la my rainbow. What do you think?

Guess what the earth's climate has changed more times than TPS post in a week - with and without mankind on the planet. Get over yourselves - human life on earth is like a flea on a dog - we won't make the Earth change in any significant way.

But the six inches of snow that my patch of WV got last week melted as temps hovered over 50 degrees last night. I saw a rainbow in winter for the first time in my life this morning.
