So I covered Tom Corbett tonight speaking to his "base," also known as the business executives of the Greater Philadelphiia Chamber of Commerce. Nothing wrong with our governor appearing at the event -- it's an annual "Conversation with the Governor thing -- except that he doesn't show his face in public in Philadelphia many other times. How about a question and answer session up at Temple, so he can explain to kids why their tuition is going up, as opposed to telling a friendly room of rich people how he's fighting to get Big Government off their back?

I did get to hear this pricelsss exchange:

Either you're on the bus, or you're off the bus.

Me, I'm off the bus. I'll be checking out Tom Corbett later this afternoon. so posting will be light for a while. Why Corbett over Palin? I guess I just prefer my governors sitting.

Will these men ever find jobs again in their lifetime?

Wallace is part of a growing "lost generation" of Philadelphia men in their 30s, 40s and 50s - lacking college degrees and watching the factory jobs of their youth vanish.

Regular Attytood leaders are well acquainted with Grover Norquist, the D.C.-based conservative lobbyist and muckety-muck. When I wrote frequently about venal right-wingers distorting Ronald Reagan's actual legacy to promote endless tax cuts for the rich and endless wars, I was talking about Norquist in particular, as the founder of the Ronald Reagan Legacy Project. Related to Norquist's guerrilla mission -- actually, the central part of it these days -- is a no-tax pledge that apparently now supercedes the Pennsylvania Constitution:

Over in the governor's office, Corbett remains unwavering in his campaign-era hard line over tax increases, but in recent months has shown some hint of openness - if not support - of the prospect of an "impact fee."

When Keith Olbermann left MSNBC, it created more than one hole in the network's lineup, In addition to losing Keith, it meant more airtime for Ed Schultz, a host whose cartoonish rants discredit the other thoughtful progressives on the network like Rachel Maddow, who manages to expose right-wing hypocrisy with a smile every night. Not so Ed Schultz. When people like Jon Stewart seek to do a "balanced" video montage of right-wing lunacy and left-wing lunacy, they always have plenty of conservative candidates.

But the left-wing lunatic clip is always Ed Schultz. Always. While there's a great need for someone who does what Schultz tries to do -- fiery defender of the blue-collar working man -- his actual shtick damages the liberal causes he professes to fight for.

OK, so the bad news is that the Tea Party is coming for your children:

MALTA, Idaho — America's kids will be learning about the U.S. Constitution this coming school year with help from a decidedly conservative Idaho publishing house, if a tea party group gets its way.

"I don't think the space program has much political positives."

Answer to come before the end of this decade.
