45 million Americans can't be healthy

POSTED: Tuesday, October 2, 2012, 5:06 PM

This is a big, BIG difference between the candidates:

Mitt Romney’s health care plan wouldn’t just insure fewer people than “Obamacare” — it would make the uninsured problem worse than it would have been if the law had never passed, according to a comparison of the two plans by a research group with a history of pro-“Obamacare” studies.

The analysis by the Commonwealth Fund, a New York-based health care research foundation, found that under Romney’s health care plan, the uninsured population would soar to 72 million by 2022 — 12 million higher than if nothing had been done at all.

By contrast, if President Barack Obama’s health care law is fully implemented — including complete state participation in the now voluntary Medicaid expansion — the number of uninsured people would drop from 47.9 million in 2011 to about 27.1 million people in 2022, the report estimated.

The Commonwealth Fund produces studies that often cast the national health care law in a favorable light, and spotlight the shortcomings of the American health care system compared to other countries.

The picture at top shows people without insurance lined up for a free health clinic in Los Angeles. In Mitt Romney's America, that's OK -- that people file for bankruptcy because of crushing medical bills (another case of American exceptionalism), or that people who could have been treated with proper medical care get sick and die. Others think that's not OK. Let's see how that plays out in November.

45 million is a number bandied about by the left and unsubstantiated and not verifiable.Exactly how many of the supossed 45M are actually citizens (ie-not illegal aliens or border crashers)? How many of them are 20 & 30 somethings who decline coverage at their job? How many are drug and alchohol addicted and don't care?

Health is wealth. Romney and his minions want the Americans to be sick so they can continue to keep them subservient.

Education is the other part of his attempt to hold the middle class back.

We not only had to wait for the Obamacare bill to pass Congress (when he had complete control of both houses) before we knew what was in it, we have to wait until 2014 before the majority of his bill even goes into effect. How stupid can the likes of Will Bunch be?

Will and his socialists followers on this site should pack up and move to Denmark or Norway or Sweden. Life would be so much easier for them there. Free health care, free education, free free free everything from the government.

I'll tell you what Will ......when your liberal socialists heroes like Bruce Springsteen and Sean Penn and Sarah Silverman and all of their cronies donate half of their salaries to the government coffers I'll be right there, backing your left wing political agenda.

Not looking for anything free. Just looking for insurance that I can actually afford.

ICDogg ....if you earn a living and can't afford to buy insurance I doubt Obamacare will be the answer to your prayers. His health care bill is set up to insure those that don't have jobs and rely on government for their food, education and housing. He wants total capitulation of his voting bloc to his governing prowess. It will be all Obama all the time. He talks about bending the cost curve of health care for every one but in reality the only thing he's bending is the truth.

Please riddle me this...Since when is it a constitutional right for "free" health care.

Will are you still a "left leaning" independent? I need a good laugh.

If Obama gets reelected this country will no longer resemble the country it once was. Independence and freedom will be a thing of the past. His remedy for what ails us is nothing more then a socialist recipe for disaster, consisting of government bureaucrats who control each and every facet of our lives...... from cradle to grave is his and his supporters future for America. When Obama takes over all of the industries as he's professed, then we can all live the good life.
