UPDATED: The jazz "zinger"

UPDATE: It's true...Romney won.
Go crazy, folks. Go crazy.
Will Mitt Romney make it "zing" tonight. Or will he sing to President Obama -- how about Bob Seger's "Get Out of Denver" ("Because you look just like a Commie/And you might just be a member...")
Want to read some "zingers" even lamer than Romney's -- follow me on Twitter for some weak one-liners and shallow observations as the 2012 campaign joins the Mile High club at 9 p.m.. Or you can be anti-social...media and post your own reactions below.
What, you were expecting a "live blog"? Dude, that's so 2004.

Mitt did well stating the obvious failings of the administration and also in making promises that he would do it all and give us candy. His Achilles heel is the lack of a plausible outline of how it could be accomplished. As another comment noted - Romney's is a problem of math and reality verses nice promises. He can't articulate how his plan might work mathematically because it doesn't. His other problem, and this one's more fundamental, is that the majority of independent voters are just unwilling to take him on blind trust simply because of who and what he is. Without articulating the particulars Romney is not going to win over independents who are Tkat

I havent seen crying like this since all the way back to the Wisconsin recall of ought 12. tr88
Its actually sort of like Chip Diller in that I continue to come back here to ask for another. To ask, 'how is it that an electorate has become so unbelievably uninformed?' I don't know what 'the tingle is gone' is supposed to mean but I understand where Matthews is coming from. Mitt stood up there and absolutely was pathological in his untruths and deceptions regarding his policy plans. Its truly amazing. To me its a complete contempt for the voter. And President Obama didn't lay into him. He simply pointed out repeatedly what has been ably estimated. Mitt's retort: Well you have your studies, I have mine. Cynical doesn't begin to capture his stance. Oh and look -- RGs big idea (perhaps the most insanely cynical notion out of this round) -- "no one is stopping you from voluntarily contributing more". His ridiculous comment of course insinuates it has nothing to do with a slump in aggregate demand. Is that what you're suggesting, RG? Murrayman
The only questions I have is, RG, when are you going to get over yourself? How many times does it need to be pointed out you are a pathological data miner before you get it? Your method is absurd, and yet you still persist. "I think the HCR is an abomination, let me go find data that supports only that notion...". Its like you are willing to say, yeah I'm biased, so what? But yeah, no I'm sure Ramesh stands ready to start determining the number of state exchanges that will ultimately be created. Murrayman
"Obama's cult of personality followers are starting to panic."
Not quite, but it's good to see the 'Principled One' back amongst us. wokmaster
atkins, please, give us one of those 'lies he has slung at Romney for months'. That aside, I can't believe I'm actually witness to an atkins screed more than a few lines long, not referencing some obnoxious attempt to by witty and zany, like a morning zoo DJ. Murrayman- A political debate is the grown-up version of playing "Yo mama is so fat", except that there are billions of dollars and the future of the country on the line. I always wonder why they even try. DonQ
Follow you on Twitter? I already follow Carrot Top and Lindsay Lohan on Twitter and they have a much tighter grip on reality than you do. m13sully
///Me - But Romney can not mathematically do what he promised last night.///
It is especially rich to continue reading from a massive liberal how the math for something will not work, especially considering the vocal support of a $1,000,000,000,000-plus entitlement known as Obamacare that is supposed to somehow magically lower the deficit. General Turgidson- Care to explain how he's going to cut the deficit while cutting taxes for everyone? His retort was a typical Romney platitude - "more people will be working, therefore more people will be paying taxes." Maybe you can fill in the gaps...
wokmaster
I'm sitting here thinking, wait a minute, I'm ripping a candidate who says he'll lower my marginal tax rate(s) by 20%. A quick and dirty back of the envelope tells me that, in year 2014, the 20% would be almost completely offset by just the elimination of the mortgage interest deduction. I wonder how Mitt would do? Lol. Murrayman
"To me its a complete contempt for the voter."
Like when Obama:
Promised to half the deficit
Promised to keep UE under 7%
Promised to not prosecute the drug war as aggressively
Promised to be transparent
Promised not to take SuperPac money
Promised to not raise taxes on those under $250k?
Was against the mandate before he was for it RG
