Cézanne and Beyond Extends Beyond Original Stay

The Philadelphia Museum of Art is extending by two weeks its Cézanne and Beyond exhibition. The show will now be up through May 31. Some visitors think the premise of the presentation - following the artist's influence well beyond his contemporaries to today - is contrived. Inquirer art critic Ed Sozanski has his own ideas, which are well worth considering. And for those who gauge success by eyeballs, the Art Museum says that, as of yesterday, 131,686 tickets had been issued for the show to visitors from at least 39 states.
