Throughout the Reebok Breakout Challenge, Horace Spencer III showed periodic flashes of his potential. But, on Saturday in his final game at the four-day showcase at Philadelphia University, the 14-year old proved he deserved to be there.

Throughout the Reebok Breakout Challenge, Horace Spencer III showed periodic flashes of his potential. But, on Saturday in his final game at the four-day showcase at Philadelphia University, the 14-year old proved he deserved to be there.

Spencer dropped 15 points for the Friars as he played 26 minutes and shot 7 for 10 from the field. The 6-foot-8 freshman power forward who will go to William Tennent grabbed five rebounds, all but one on the defensive.

He had said on Thursday night that he was adjusted to playing without the ball in his hands, but on Saturday he showed what he could do with he has the rock. The 15 points was by far his tournament high, as he had yet to crack 10.
