In March, the cast of ABC’s lovelorn reality TV series The Bachelorette, currently in its ninth season, was spotted filming in random locations across Atlantic City and South Jersey.

The time has finally arrived for that episode to be shared with millions of Americans. So why Jersey? Bachelor fixture Chris Harrison is co-hosting the 2014 Miss America Competition, which returns to its roots in Atlantic City this September. And what better place to promote the pageant than on the very show hosted by Harrison?

Ahead of Monday night’s shore spotlight, we spoke with former Bachelorette and Bachelor Pad star William Holman – the controversial contestant who went home after his infamous roast of former Bachelorette and Penn Dental student Ashley Hebert. Holman, who's in Center City Monday for a special Bachelorette viewing party, had a few stories of his own to share.

EL: So, what are you up to these days?
WH:
Actually, I just left my current job this past week. I wanted to take the summer off since my older sister just had her second son. I have two nephews down in Florida, so I wanted to take a month or two months to relax, hang out with my nephews, and help my sister out.
Then I figured I would go back to work.

EL: Are you still pursuing a career in comedy?
WH:
I actually have a huge fear after that roast. I thought I was funny, but getting back up there is [daunting]. ABC edited out everyone’s laughter.

EL: You had a very intense “moment” on the Bachelorette- what has your love life been like after partaking in the series?
WH: It’s definitely better now that I did the show. If I was like Bentley*, I wouldn’t know what it would be like. I saw the people who think I’m a jerk, but I’ve gone on several dates and it’s turned into the Bachelor.

EL: How so?
WH: Well, I’m just talking to them and having a good time, then the dates will get real weird. I’ve had two girls who’ve asked me, ‘Do I get the rose?’ After that, I wanted to run or get them out of my car immediately.

EL: Are you still keeping in touch with other contestants?
WH: Actually, Michael Stagliano and Craig Robinson. We hit it off on Bachelor Pad, and kept in touch. We went to Edmonton, Canada recently and invited J.P. Rosenbaum. He’s similar to us, so we all like the guy. I’m going to fly out to L.A. and meet up with Graham (Bunn). He’s always staying busy and working on something.

EL: Who do you predict will win Desiree’s affection this season?
WH: That guy everyone says is going to win – Juan Pablo Galavis.

Watch the episode on ABC Monday evening at 8 p.m.
