Whether you're into sophisticated whiskey, party-ready margaritas, local craft drafts or cheap hipster cans, NoLibs has an early evening getaway that's up your alley. Speaking of alleys, there's even discounted bowling to be found on the North Second Street strip.

Bar Ferdinand
(1030 N. 2nd St.)
Mosaic murals of the namesake bull welcome you to Owen Kamihira's sultry Spanish tapas bar, where weekday happy hour runs from 5 to 7 p.m. with $4 drafts and sangrias, matched with $4 small plates.

Jerry's Bar
(129 W. Laurel St.)
Sneak off of the main drag to find this tucked-away bi-level bar, because you'll be rewarded with two and a half hours of Monday-through-Friday specials. From 4 to 6:30 p.m., drafts are discounted by $2, and red and white wine run half-off. A changing selection of $5 small plates and a $5 West Coast burgers completes the deal.

Cantina Dos Segundos
(931 N. 2nd St.)
Make it an early fiesta on weekdays from 4 to 6 p.m. at this cantina on North Second Street, when drafts, sangrias and classic margaritas — frozen or on the rocks, pints or pitchers — are available for half price. Food deals vary, but look for discounts on nachos, empanadas, wings and fried plantains.

North Bowl
(909 N. 2nd St.)
Add some action to your happy hour at this retro bowling alley with $5 access to the lanes from 5 to 7 p.m. weekdays. Whether or not you're rolling strikes, $2 cans of PBR and $3 Jim Beam Apple shots will help pack your score sheet with a full complement of smiles.

Standard Tap
(901 N. 2nd St.)
If you're looking for local, draft beer, William Reed and Paul Kimport's neighborhood anchor is the go-to spot (especially since the bar doesn't offer any other kind of brew). On weekdays from 5 to 7 p.m., select pours are $1 off, a discount that also extends to a changing assortment of cocktails.

Bourbon & Branch
(705 N. 2nd St.)
This hip whiskey-centric bar and performance venue recently replaced long-operating normcore pub Liberties at 2nd and Fairmount. Weekdays from 5 to 7 p.m. (and Tuesdays through 10 p.m.), look for the $5 whiskey cocktail of the day along with half-price drafts, $5 wines and $5 bar snacks like pickled veggies with foccacia or housemade Cajun boudin blanc sausage.

Crabby Cafe & Sports Bar
(1050 N. Hancock St. #1)
A mish-mash of Cajun and Asian food forms the backdrop for the latest bar to commandeer this Piazza space with an impressive wall of 32 beer taps. Whether you're in the mood for a crawfish boil or a bowl of pho, you can pre-game with the 4-to-7 p.m. weekday happy hour, featuring beer for $4 per pour or $14 per pitcher, and frozen drinks for $6 each or $29 for a pitcher.

The Abbaye
(637 N. 3rd St.)
NoLibs brew fans know to look to this corner tavern a block off the main drag at Third and Fairmount for a well-curated beer selection from around the world. On weekdays between 4 and 6 p.m., pours from all dozen taps are $2 off, and non-beer drinkers can take advantage of $3 well drinks and $5 wines. A snack menu with nothing over $5 pairs well with any of the sips.
