Cosby-Roundtree pledges to play at 'Nova

Dhamir Cosby-Roundtree, a rising 6-foot-8 junior for Neumann-Goretti, has committed to play for NCAA tournament champion Villanova.

"He's probably been leaning that way for a long time," N-G coach Carl Arrigale said. "The school is also close to home, so I think he felt pretty comfortable with that."

Cosby-Roundtree averaged 14.4 points, 11.3 rebounds, and 4.1 blocks last season while helping leading the Saints to 27-4 record and their sixth PIAA Class AAA state championship in seven seasons. "He's a hard-working kid who's very coachable," Arrigale said.

Cosby-Roundtree also considered scholarship offers from Miami, Providence, Seton Hall, Syracuse, Temple, and Virginia Commonwealth, among others. He and his mother visited Villanova last night and met with Wildcats boss Jay Wright and his assistants.

Cosby-Roundtree is playing for Team Final, his AAU squad, this weekend in the Nike Elite Youth Basketball League (EYBL) showcase in Westfield, Indiana.
