Judge football player charged in connection with shooting death

Quadir Gibson, a promising freshman football player for Father Judge, was charged in connection with the shooting death earlier this week of Delaware Valley Charter student Aisha Abdur Rahman.

Gibson, a 5-foot-11, 215-pound running back who appeared in four games this season for Judge, was charged as an adult with criminal conspiracy, murder, attempted murder, aggravated assault and related offenses in the death of Abdur Rahman.

In a fight that happened outside Einsten Medical Center, police said that Gibson asked the alleged shooter in the case, Darian Person, to come to the area and "directed him to shoot a number of people."

Gibson honed his football talents while playing for the highly regarded Little Quakers program.
