Football: Penncrest's Jackson commits to Rutgers

Penncrest junior offensive lineman Jonah Jackson, who significantly improved his recruiting stock in recent camp performances, has committed to play at Rutgers.

"Rutgers has always been a dream school of mine," the 6-foot-4, 290-pound tackle said. "The football is good, the academics are strong, and they have top-notch facilities."

Jackson, a 17-year-old from Media, also had a scholarship offer from Monmouth. Delaware, Massachusetts, Ohio, and Syracuse had expressed varying degrees of interest.

Last season, while helping Penncrest to a 7-3 record, Jackson earned first-team all-Central League honors on offense. He doubles as a defensive tackle.
