Imhotep's Scott named Mr. PA Football

Imhotep Charter's Deandre Scott was named Mr. PA Football in the Small School (Class AA/A) division.

The 5-foot-10, 175-pound senior, who signed with Arizona State on Wednesday, was recognized at a banquet Saturday night in Camp Hill.

As a defensive back, running back and kick returner, Scott helped the Panthers go 12-3 and advance to the PIAA Class AA state championship game.

Cedar Cliff quarterback Andrew Ford, now at Virginia Tech, was tabbed as Mr. PA Football in the Big School (Class AAAA and AAA) division.

The voting for Mr. PA football was sponsored by SportsRecruiters.com.

Finalists for the Big School award included Neshaminy junior tailback D'Andre Pollard, who rushed for 2,929 yards and 39 touchdowns last season.

Scott, an Inquirer first-team all-Southeastern Pennsylvania selection last season, is projected to play safety at Arizona Sate.
