Basketball: Schedules for showcases at Bishop Eustace, St. Augustine

Two big showcase events mark the South Jersey boys' basketball calendar this weekend.

The Tri-State Showcase will be Friday and Saturday at Bishop Eustace, while the Shoot Down Cancer Classic will be Saturday and Sunday at St. Augustine.

The Tri-State Showcase will feature 12 games, with two much-anticipated games at the end: Pitman vs. Rancocas Valley at 6:30 and Haddonfield vs. Bishop Eustace at 8 on Saturday night.

In addition, No. 1 Paul VI will face New York power Albany (N.Y.) Academy at 330 on Saturday.

The Shoot Down Cancer Classic -- formerly known as the Olympic-Cape Classic -- also will feature 12 games and will be highlighted Saturday by matchups such as Camden vs. Atlantic City at 245 and Holy Spirit vs. St. Augustine at 6.

The event's finale will be an interesting matchup between Cherokee and Wildwood Catholic on 530 Sunday.
