Football: Ryan's Golden headed to Bucknell

Archbishop Ryan's Connor Golden, a senior wide receiver and defensive back, committed Sunday to play at Bucknell. He visited the school over the weekend.

"The place is beautiful, and all the people were real accepting," the 6-foot, 200-pounder said. "Football-wise, the coaches were nice and the program seems to be headed in the right direction."

Golden, who earned Inquirer first-team all-Southeastern Pennsylvania honors last season, also played wide receiver and punted for the Raiders.

The 18-year-old from Bensalem also had scholarship offers from Bryant and Holy Cross.

In baseball, Golden, who posted 10 interceptions and made five touchdown catches last fall, is an outfielder and pitcher.
