Football: La Salle's Shurmur lands offers
La Salle's Kyle Shurmur, a strong-armed quarterback, is drawing increased recruiting interest from Division I-A programs.
The 6-foot-4, 215-pound junior has landed scholarship offers from Central Michigan, Illinois, and Pittsburgh.
Shurmur, who last season threw for more than 2,400 yards and 25 touchdowns, has also received interest from Duke, Penn State, and Wake Forest.
New Penn State coach James Franklin stopped by La Salle last week to check in on Shurmur.
Shurmur, who competes for La Salle's swim team during the winter months, is the son of Philadelphia Eagles offensive coordinator Pat Shurmur.
