Football: Bristol vs. Morrisville canceled

The Thanksgiving Day football game between Bucks County rivals Bristol and Morrisville (low numbers) has been canceled.

The Warriors and Bulldogs last played in 2011. They did not play last year, as Bristol was still involved in the PIAA Class A state playoffs.

This year's game was officialy canceled Monday.

"I understand why they're doing it," Bristol coach Leo Plenski said. 'There are no hard feelings. I just wish we had another game to play."

Bristol and Morrisville, foes in the Bicentennial Athletic League, began the series in 1928. The Warriors are ahead by 43-36-4.

In this year's regular-season meeting, Bristol romped to a 67-9 victory.
