Football: Beast of East combine set for Jan. 17

The Beast of the East Underclassmen Showcase for football players will be held January 17 at Total Turf Experience, 614 Lambs Road in Pitman.

The combine-style event is open to football players in the classes 2015, 2016 and 2017 and will feature instruction from some top former South Jersey athletes.

Registation deadline is Dec. 8.

The event will be organized by Next Level Quarterbacks, which is run by Marcus Hammond, and Great U Sports Academy, which is run by Preston Brown.

Among the instructors scheduled to participate, with the college at which they played football in parentheses:

Preston Brown (Tulane)

Marcus Hammond (North Carolina A&T)

Drew Gardner (Iowa)

Aaron Beasley (West Virginia)

Albert Young (iowa)

Malik Brown (North Carolina)

Corey Adderly (North Carolina A&T)

Antwine Perez (Maryland)

Dorien Bryant (Purdue)

Wali Lundy (Virginia)

Robert Hammond (Rowan coach)

Antonio Cordova (Rowan coach)

This combine-style setting will allow the top football prospects in the Northeastern United States to compete against one another.

The event is designed to give players to opportunity to improve their ratings and establish themselves as college prospects.

This event will also be streamed live online, in which the link will be sent to more than 3,500 college coaches.

Participant contact information will be sent to the college coaches and media immediately after the registration deadline of December 8.
