Hoops: N-G's Harper commits to Campbell

Neumann-Goretti senior guard Troy Harper has committed to play his college hoops at Campbell.

Last season, the 6-foot-1, 170-pounder helped the Saints claim their fifth consecutive Catholic League championship and advance to the quarterfinal round of the PIAA District 1 Class AAA playoffs.

Harper also received interest from Manhattan, Towson, Boston University and Niagara, among others.

Campbell, which competes in the Big South Conference, is guided by former Springfield (Delco) head coach and Richmond assistant Kevin McGeehan. He spent the last eight seasons on Chris Mooney's staff.

McGeehan's assistants at Campbell include Dan Geriot (Springfield/Richmond) and Chris Clark (St. Joseph's Prep/Temple). Greg Robbins (Lower Merion/Richmond) is a graduate assistant with the Fighting Camels.

Campbell plays in the Big South Conference. Last season, the squad went 13-20 overall and 7-9 in conference play.

Campbell is located in Buies Creek, N.C.
