Saint Joseph's Women's Soccer Falls to Penn, 1-0

The Quakers (4-0-0) tallied the games lone in the final minutes of the first half. Off a corner kick, Penn's Tahirih Nesmith collected the ball and drilled a low shot that Jancuska sprawled to stop. With the ball near the goal line, a SJU defender attempted to clear the ball only to have Nesmith step into the clear and deflect the ball back into the net at 41:25.

Saint Joseph's (4-2-2) best scoring chance came in the 74th minute on a shot by Erica Graziosi, but Penn's goalkeeper made the save to keep the Hawks off the scoreboard.

For the game, Penn outshot SJU 14-1 and finished with a 6-2 edge in corner kicks.

The Hawks return to action this Tuesday when they hosts Princeton at 7 p.m.
