Ardmore Music Hall Will Light with Hooters, Price, Holmes Bros

A legendary live music venue  in Ardmore is gearing up for a new era with a fresh name and opening weekend attractions The Hooters, Billy Price and the Holmes Brothers.

Known in its' 1980s and '90s heydays as 23 East, then later as Brownies 23 East, the Lancaster Avenue club (at 23 E., naturally) is now being reborn as the Ardmore Music Hall, with a grand opening weekend set for Friday, September 20th and Saturday, September 21.

The blue-eyed-soul Billy Price Band - virtually the club's house band back in the day -  are booked in  the first night, along with the classic R&B/street-corner harmonizing Holmes Brothers.

Next night brings The Hooters - just back from a sold out tour of Germany and Switzerland. They, too, used to hang and play lots at the club when it was run (as was the Chestnut Cabaret) by the Mountain brothers, Steve and Greg.

Adding even more to the "old school" vibes, the new management team for the reconstituted Armore Music Hall includes Richard Kardon of Point Entertainment, which long ran The Point music club just a mile or so away down Lancaster ave. He'll be working with Brownies' Joe Rufo and another long time talent booker around town Bryan Dilworth (Bonfire Booking.)

Other upcoming shows at the Armore Music Hall include Casey James, September 26;  Fountains of Wayne and Soul Asylum with special guest Evan Dando, October 10; Uncle Kracker, October 19; Johnny Winter, November 8; The Clarks, November 15.
