Football: East's Angeline bound for Delaware

Downingtown East senior running back Ryley Angeline committed Monday night to play for Delaware.

"It just felt like the best fit for me," he said. "It's pretty close to home, and I love all the coaches."

The 6-foot-3, 215-pounder, who doubles as a linebacker, visited a Delaware practice on Sunday and took a tour of the campus a few weeks ago.

He also had scholarship offers from Buffalo, Colgate, Richmond, Temple, and Western Michigan, among others.

Last season, while helping East to a 10-1 record and the Ches-Mont League National Conference title, Angeline carried 232 times for 1,102 yards and 10 touchdowns.

Angeline said he expects to play offense for the Blue Hens, either as a power back or tight end.
