Football: Carrezola picks Connecticut

Neshaminy's Luke Carrezola, a 6-foot-3, 245-pound senior tight end and defensive end, orally committed Tuesday morning to play his college football at Connecticut.

"I knew I wanted to get it done before the season," the 17-year-old said. "I took a visit there last Friday, and I absolutely loved it."

Carrezola was joined on the unofficial visit by his parents, Lee and Claire, and older brother, Paul. He recently attended a one-day camp at the school.

The Langhorne resident plans to major in kinesiology. "Connecticut is ranked No. 1 in the country for that major," he said. "That played a big part in my decision."

Carrezola, an Inquirer second-team all-Southeastern Pennsylvania pick on defense last season, also had a scholarship offer from Temple.

Paul Carrezola, who starred at Neshaminy, is a senior tight end at Rutgers.
