Basketball: CHE Invitational matchups

By Phil Anastasia

A Sunday night matchup between Paul VI and St. Anthony of Jersey City highlights the schedule for next season's Cherry Hill East Invitational basketball tournament.

Paul VI is projected to return four starters from last year's 26-4 squad and likely will start the season as South Jersey's No. 1 ranked team.

St. Anthony of Jersey City, coached by the legendary Bob Hurley, is perhaps the nation's most renowned high school program.

The Paul VI-St. Anthony clash will serve as the finale of the two-day, 11-game showcase that will feature most of the top teams in South Jersey.

Two-time defending Group 4 state champion Atlantic City will square off with Rancocas Valley, which projects as a Group 4 state contender, in a matchup of teams that were a combined 55-5 last season.

Camden Catholic, which is projected to feature 6-10 Demola Onifade (pictured), a transfer student from Nigeria, is scheduled to face defending South Jersey Group 2 champion Medford Tech and its high-powered backcourt of Elijah Cain and Myles Powell.

Camden, the two-time defending South Jersey Group 3 champion, will meet a Pitman team that will feature 6-9 sophomore Tim Delaney, probably South Jersey's most highly recruited player in the class of 2015.

Here's the two-day schedule, according to event director John Valore:
