Are we too dumb for democracy?

The author comes from a left-wing perspective and shapes some of the info that way, but numbers don't lie. The central question -- are Americans too dumb -- is one I have struggled with.

Since I believe in the Common Man (and Woman, and Bi-Gendered) I don't want to think so, but when I listen to some of the things Americans believe, it makes me lose faith.
