CBS wants more 'Two and a Half Men'

CBS keeps putting off the meeting of "How I Met Your Mother" star Josh Radnor and the woman who's apparently going to be instrumental in turning him into Bob Saget.

"We're very confident" a adeal will be made for a ninth season of the show, CBS entertainment president Nina Tassler told reporters Saturday morning.

Depending on how you feel about Saget -- and "HIMYM" -- this is either the equivalent of Lucy pulling the football away from Charlie Brown yet again, or a profound relief.

Also beating a still-very-much-watched dead horse, Tassler said CBS "would like to have an 11th season" of "Two and a Half Men," and so would Warner Bros., so it's apparently up to the actors to put this one down. And somehow I don't see that happening.

Angus T. Jones -- he used to be the "Half" -- made his public apology for the video in which he suggested that working on the show, which is essentially one long dick joke, might not be in keeping with his Christian beliefs, and Tassler's ready to welcome him back for an 11th year, too.

As the TV critic for the Philadelphia Daily News, I've always believed my job is less about thumbs -- up or down -- and more about the conversation. Because the more choices we have, the fewer people in our lives know what we're talking about when we say, "Did you see that?" And that's when television really starts to get interesting.
