Driver in fatal Doylestown Twp. crash to face charges
9-year-old Holly Huynh was killed the night before Thanksgiving, when her grandmother's car was rear-ended by a car driven by Drew Bodden. Announcement of Bodden's arrest is scheduled Thursday.
A Plumstead Township man with a record of motor-vehicle violations will be charged in the fatal car crash that killed a 9-year-old girl in Doylestown Township last month, authorities said Wednesday.
Doylestown Township police and the Bucks County District Attorney's Office have scheduled a news conference for 11 a.m. Thursday to announce the arrest of Drew Bodden, 37, in connection with the death of Holly Huynh on the night before Thanksgiving.
Authorities have said they believed Bodden was speeding when his Ford Mustang rear-ended a Honda CR-V just before 7 that night on the northbound Doylestown Bypass.
The impact caused the Honda to veer off the highway and flip several times. Emergency responders found Huynh and her grandmother, Suzanne Berry, 55, both of Plumstead, ejected near the wreckage.
The girl died at the scene, and Berry was flown to Temple University Hospital in critical condition.
Bodden and his passenger, Christine Mokrynchuk, 43, also of Plumstead, were taken to Abington Memorial Hospital.
Bodden has pleaded guilty to infractions such as failing to obey traffic control devices, failing to stop at stop signs, and driving on a suspended or revoked license on at least three occasions during the last five years, records show.
