Imhotep Charter's Brandon Austin, a 6-foot-6, 175-pound point guard, committed to Providence College on Monday. The senior chose the Friars over Texas and Connecticut.

Last season, while leading Imhotep to its third PIAA Class AA title in four seasons, Austin was an Inquirer second-team all-Southeastern Pennsylvania selection.

In the state final versus District 7's Beaver Falls, he produced 13 points, 13 rebounds, four assists, and three blocks in a 56-54 overtime triumph.

Austin originally committed to Penn State.
