Home Delivery Print Subscription Terms

These terms govern the purchase by you of print subscriptions to The Philadelphia Inquirer and the Philadelphia Daily News by you.

Subscriptions and Pricing. By agreeing to purchase any home delivery subscription from PMN, you agree to pay the price stated in your subscription order, plus any applicable fees and taxes. If your subscription includes any of our digital products, the terms applicable to your purchase of our digital products, which can be found here, apply to the purchase of digital products that are part of your subscription.

Subscription Rates. Subscriptions are billed in advance and renew automatically unless you call our Customer Service department to cancel your subscription. All subscription rates are subject to increase at any time. The Philadelphia Inquirer or Daily News reserves the right to change subscription rates at any time, for any reason, in its sole discretion. We will provide you with notice of a rate increase either through the rate reflected on your bill or, if you pay using Easy Pay, by letter. The paid through date on your bill reflects the date through which your subscription will be paid in full as of the date the billing statement was processed, and may be subject to change based on long-term holds, holiday and/or bonus editions, changes in your subscription made by you, price increases, and other changes in our product offerings. Periodic rate increases are required to maintain the highest quality standards that subscribers expect from The Philadelphia Inquirer or Daily News.

Automatic Renewal and Billing Unless otherwise stated in your subscription order, your subscription will automatically renew for terms equal to the initial term of your subscription at the rate that applies to your subscription on the renewal date. We will continue to bill you at the applicable rate according to the billing cycle applicable to your subscription order, unless your subscription order provided otherwise, or you change or cancel your subscription.

Recurring Payments. By agreeing to purchase your subscription, you agree to pay for your subscription, as it renews at the applicable rate, unless you modify or cancel your subscription. You also agree to the billing frequency stated on your subscription order.

Changes in Price. We reserve the right to change the price of our subscription offerings at any time. If the price of your subscription changes, we will notify you in advance of charging the new price, so you have an opportunity to cancel your subscription before the new price becomes effective and before you are charged for your subscription at the new price.

Subscription Changes and Cancellations.  Unless stated otherwise in your subscription offer, you have the right to change or cancel your subscription at any time by calling our Customer Service Department at: 215.222.2765. Our Customer Service representatives are available from 7 a.m. until 1 p.m. seven days a week.Your cancellation will be effective at the end of the billing cycle in effect at the time you cancel.  Cancellations communicated by e-mail, or through commenting on our site, are not valid and will not result in the cancellation of your subscription. These purchase terms do not entitle you to any credit or refund. If you change your subscription, any credit balance that you have as of the date of the change will be applied to your new subscription.

We reserve the right to change or cancel your subscription at any time.   Our product offerings, terms and subscription rates may change at any time.

Holiday and Premium Editions: If you are a weekend or Sunday subscriber, you may also receive, in addition to the editions regularly included in your subscription, holiday editions during the weeks of Martin Luther King Day, Memorial Day and the Fourth of July. Holiday editions are charged at your daily rate. As a subscriber, you may also periodically receive premium editions throughout the year. Each premium edition includes in-depth coverage of a single topic of seasonal interest. Those topics may be: the year in photos, entertainment awards, college basketball championships, a baseball season preview, a summer shore guide, a football season preview, a dining guide and a special Thanksgiving edition. We may publish other premium editions that we believe are of interest to you. Premium editions are published instead of our regular editions on the applicable dates and are charged at your Sunday rate. Any additional charges for holiday and premium editions will be reflected in your account and will accelerate the expiration date of your subscription. If you do not wish to receive holiday and/or premium editions, please call us at 215-222-2765.

Other Fees. New print subscriptions are subject to an additional, non-refundable activation fee of $4.00. Print subscribers may opt-out of bonus and/or premium editions.

Customer Service Hours of Operation and Contact Information: Our Customer Service Department is available to assist you Monday to Friday from 6:00 AM to 1:00 PM, Saturday and Sunday from 7:00 AM to 1:00 pm.  

Automated Customer Care: Our Automated Customer Care system is available anytime and offers several self service options:  Check your account balance, make a payment, report a delivery issue or process a vacation hold.  You can also manage your account online via Subscriber Concierge at myaccount.inquirer.com or myaccount.phillydailynews.com.

Promotional Rates/Promotional Gifts: From time to time, we offer promotional offers and other discounts for new subscribers within our regular home delivery area only. The details of those promotions will be described in the offers for those promotions. If you accept such an offer, it will be billed in accordance with the terms stated in the offer, and, at the end of the term of the offer, your subscription will renew in accordance with our rates then in effect. 

Your new rate will be reflected on your bill, or if you are an EasyPay subscriber, in a written notice to you. By not canceling your subscription after receiving your bill or written notice, you are agreeing to your new subscription rate.

Offers that include promotional gifts are limited to one per subscription and may not be combined with any other promotional offers. Restrictions may apply to promotional gift offers. Please note that introductory and promotional rates and gifts may require a commitment to continue subscription service for a minimum period of time and that early termination fees may apply. For example, a recipient of a promotional gift card will be responsible for an early termination fee equal to the value of the promotional gift if any of the following occurs prior to the expiration date of the initial promotional period of such recipient’s subscription: (i) the recipient cancels the subscription; (ii) the recipient downgrades the subscription; or (iii) The Philadelphia Inquirer or Daily News cancels the recipient’s subscription due to non-payment. Each recipient of a promotional gift card hereby authorizes The Philadelphia Inquirer or Daily News to charge his or her credit card for any early termination fee.

Vacation Suspension Policy: The Philadelphia Inquirer or Daily News allows its subscribers to temporarily suspend the home delivery portion of their subscription while on vacation or otherwise away from home. Expiration dates are not adjusted into the future for temporary vacation suspensions of less than 21 days, and a credit will not be issued. While on vacation all Philadelphia Inquirer and Daily News subscribers will continue to have full access to The Philadelphia Inquirer or Daily News Replica Edition and The Philadelphia Inquirer or Daily News apps.

Missed Deliveries: Should you miss delivery on any given day, you can contact us at 215-222-2765 to request a redelivery. Redelivery is available if you call before 8:30 AM Monday through Friday, and before 10:00 AM on Saturday and Sunday.  If you call after the redelivery cutoff time, or do not wish the newspaper to be redelivered, your expiration date will be extended for each day of missed delivery.

Placement: The physical placement of The Inquirer or Daily News when it is delivered to your home or business is determined by our distributors and/or their service providers. You may make a request for the specific placement of the newspaper at your address, which we will communicate to the appropriate distributor. However, such requests are ultimately handled by our distributors and/or their service providers and we cannot guarantee that all such requests will be accommodated.
