Bill Spicer likes to say he and his wife honeymooned at the Burlington County Farm Fair.
When pressed, he'll admit that before they ever competed in a skillet throw or organized a pony ride, he and Carolyn Spicer vacationed in Williamsburg, Va. But from the first months of their marriage in December 1981, after they met at work at Burlington County Institute of Technology, the Westampton residents have played a pivotal role in running the annual agricultural festival.

A Willingboro man was sentenced to five years in prison yesterday for his role in a $500,000 motorcycle-theft ring that operated out of South Jersey.

Kyle Bunn, 30, was also ordered by a Burlington County Superior Court judge to pay $4,008 restitution and turn in his minivan, which he used to steal the motorcycles. Bunn pleaded guilty in January to conspiracy to receive stolen property. Authorities said that from 2003 to 2005, Bunn was part of a theft ring that operated in Atlantic, Burlington and Mercer Counties.

Bunn looked for opportunities to steal motorcycles and all-terrain vehicles, usually when the vehicles were parked near their owners' homes, according to the Attorney General's Office. - Allison Steele

A passenger in a northbound car on I-295 jumped onto the highway rather than ride with a drunken driver, police said. Juan Baez, 32, jumped shortly after 11 p.m. Sunday in West Deptford, said Sgt. Stephen Jones, a state police spokesman.

Stacey Boothroyd, 26, of Camden, was driving her 1985 Oldsmobile Cutlass at nearly 50 m.p.h. when "she got into a sharp disagreement with her passenger," Jones said, so he jumped. Boothroyd pulled over seconds later.

"Baez was banged up pretty good and sustained some serious scrapes and bumps," said Jones. Baez was treated at Cooper University Hospital in Camden, said Jones.

The Cutlass was towed to an impound lot where police discovered marijuana inside. Troopers from the Bellmawr station charged Boothroyd with drunken driving and released her to the custody of her mother, Jones said. -Sam Wood
