- There are roadblocks to leasing the Turnpike
In the largest bid ever for the private operation of a U.S. toll road, a Spanish toll-road operator and a U.S. investment firm have offered $12.8 billion to lease the Pennsylvania Turnpike for 75 years, Gov. Rendell said yesterday.

- With the celebrated Boyd Theater once again for sale, the National Trust for Historic Preservation has placed the art deco movie palace on its annual list of the 11 most endangered historic sites in America.
