Audio Interview | Lt. Timothy Lo

Platoon leader. San Diego, Calif.

"When I first heard the news I was shocked. I was even more shocked when my colonel told me to pack up, get ready to go, knowing that I have to take his place. It was scary."

Audio:Lo describes the grieving process of his platoon.

Lt. Timothy Lo, 26, was born in Hong Kong. He was named leader of "Combat" Company's 3d Platoon in June to replace his friend, Lt. Forrest P. Ewens, who, along with another soldier, was killed by a roadside bomb.
