Making a splash
The Sugarloaf Crafts Festival appeals to the creative of all ages. In one event, Splash! Animals, artists quickly throw and brush paint on a canvas as the audience tries to identify which endangered species the paint splatters create. Older craft enthusiasts can browse pottery, sculpture, glass, jewelry, home decor, furniture, home accessories, and photography. The Crafts Festival is 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. today and Saturday and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday at the Greater Philadelphia Expo Center, Oaks. Tickets: $7 online, $8 at the door, free 12 and younger. Armenian airs
The Philadelphia Museum of Art's Art After 5 series presents Armen Donelian, a jazz pianist and composer who re-creates Armenian folk songs. His performance will complement the "Arshile Gorky: A Retrospective" exhibit. The concert is performed in two sets in the Great Stair Hall, from 5:45 to 6:45 p.m. and from 7:15 to 8:15 p.m. at the museum, 26th Street and the Benjamin Franklin Parkway. Singer Neshama Carlebach will perform with the Green Pastures Baptist Church Choir at Har Zion Temple, 1500 Hagys Ford Rd., Penn Valley, at 8 p.m. The performance, open to the community, is part of Carlebach's "Soul Journey," which raises funds to help communities around the world present musical, educational, and spiritual events. Listening to a legend

Hosted by Bob Pantano of WOGL-FM (98.1) with a performance by Bobby Rydell, Dance Philly! benefits the Susanna DeLaurentis Charitable Foundation's efforts to find cures for fatal childhood diseases. Bluesy Bill
The First Person Arts Festival hosts the Philadelphia premiere of Still Bill, a documentary on Bill Withers, the musician who created the songs "Ain't No Sunshine," "Just the Two of Us," and "Lean on Me." Directors Alex Vlack and Damani Baker explain why this brilliant musician abandoned the blues scene as abruptly as he changed it.
