Bidding for the theater
The Walnut Street Theatre is holding its 10th annual auction, Bid, Glorious Bid!, tonight with items for sale ranging from restaurant gift certificates to sports tickets to seats at a Broadway play to week-long vacations in Key West. There will be a silent auction at 6 p.m. and a live auction hosted by NBC10's Terry Ruggles at 8 p.m. in the theater, 825 Walnut St. A special performance will feature Hugh Panaro and Janine DiVita, stars of Oliver!, the theater's holiday production. One huge dog walk
PAWS invites dog lovers to a scenic, 1.5-mile walk, the third annual Mutt Strut, on Saturday through FDR Park, 1900 Pattison Ave. The event raises money for and awareness of efforts to save animals by PAWS (Philadelphia Animal Welfare Society). Check-in and registration begin at 10 a.m.; walking begins at 11 a.m. Bring your dog, "rent" a PAWS dog, or just walk to support the cause. Adoptable PAWS dogs will be at the adoption festival coinciding with the walk. Cost: $25, $10 for children ages 12 and younger. Information: www.phillypaws.org.

Haunted history in the city
Join the Philadelphia Haunted Trolley Tour at 8 tonight, Saturday or Sunday at the Bourse building, 11 S. Fifth St., for 90 minutes of ghost-filled excitement. The guided tour will feature about 20 scary spots in the Independence National Historical Park area and Society Hill such as Ben Franklin's grave, Washington Square, cemeteries and old landmarks. Emerging fine art
Work from the finalists in the Jack Wolgin International Competition in the Fine Arts will be displayed at the Temple Gallery, 12th and Norris Streets, Lower Level B04, through Nov. 14. See the exhibition from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Wednesdays through Saturdays. This new competition awarded an emerging artist - Ryan Trecartin - a $150,000 prize last week. Works by Trecartin and the two finalists, Sanford Biggers and Michael Rakowitz, are displayed. This is the largest juried visual art prize in the world. Information: www.temple.edu/tyler/wolginprize.

Music of 25 harps
Listen to the magic of 25 harpists as the West Chester University Harp Ensemble takes the stage in a Free at the Kimmel event. The group, which tours the tristate area and performs on TV and radio, will play music from a spectrum of classical composers, under the direction of Gloria Galante.
