On near-death events, other realities
But on his way to Gettysburg Hospital, Redding recalls that his mother observed his body changing as if something had intervened in what should have been a trip to the morgue. Four days later, Redding says, he made a miraculous recovery and was able to return home.
Redding, a well-known arborist who now lives in Salford Township, says this was a pivotal point in his life.
There were 14 other times throughout the next 58 years when he believes he escaped death in what he calls "edge experiences," the most recent of which occurred in 2002 when stings from a swarm of yellow jackets put him into a coma.
"I refer to them as edge experiences because it's much like they took me to the edge of reality and opened up windows to other worlds," Redding said.
And that's the subject of the seminar "Windows Into Other Worlds" that he will be giving Nov. 6 at the Bucks County Council building for Boy Scouts of America in Doylestown. It is a two-hour event that begins with his support for multiple realities or worlds. He will then explore how others perceive multiple worlds and how everyone can use this multiworld knowledge to see beyond the ordinary to improve their lives.
He will also be holding a free forum Oct. 14 at the Memorial Library of Radnor Township titled "On the Edge of Life and Death," covering many of the same subjects. The forum is part of a meeting of Main Line MUFON (Mutual UFO Network).
"From time to time, we've been able to glimpse beings or lights or phenomena from those realities," Redding said. "I'll be able to share the experience along with a few other people who had singular near-death experiences."
The seminar is based on his book More or Less, iUniverse ($30.95), which was released last month.
