Rappo won his third sectional title at 103 pounds and helped Council Rock South take the District 1 Section 1 title with 196.5 points at Abington.

Rappo, who placed second in the state tournament last season, will be looking to duplicate the feat of his brother Mike, who won titles in 2005 and 2006 and his other brother, Rick, who won a state title in 2004.

Rappo won his title by beating James Bak of Harry S Truman with a 17-1 technical fall in 4 minutes, 29 seconds.

Also winning titles for the Golden Hawks were Matt Martoccio, who pinned Brian Kahil of Pennsbury in 1:56 at 125 pounds; Dustin Tancredi, who pinned Zac Bush of William Tennent at 140 pounds in 1:25; Jim Vollrath, who pinned Jesse Jones of Harry S Truman in 1:18 at 145 pounds, and Marc Helfrich, who pinned Alex Thierjung of Bensalem in 2:47.

Sean Edmonson of Harry S Truman won a 6-4 decision over Tim Santry of Upper Moreland at 112 pounds and was named the outstanding wrestler. The top three wrestlers in each weight class move on to the district tournaments next weekend.
